Candidates must be nationals of nations with historically low levels of immigration to the US. It is important to note that residents of countries with historically high US immigration rates are ineligible.

If you’re a citizen of a nation that has a high rate of immigration to the United States and wish to apply, there is an alternative way to qualify.

If your spouse was born in a country with historically low rates of immigration to the United States, you may be able to claim your spouse’s country as your own. Note, that both your name and your spouse’s name must be listed as participants in the DV program.

How to Apply for American Sponsorship Visa

Remember that you are registering for the 2024 American Sponsorship Visa(DV-2024), not the 2022 US Immigrant Visa Sponsorship. With their new green cards, the winners will be eligible to go to the US in 2024.

The application process necessitates several online procedures. To assist you with the application process, we will outline the key steps you must take before being granted the American Citizenship Visa. This will assist you in effectively and effortlessly understanding all of the processes involved in the application for the American Sponsorship Visa.

Entry Submission

This is the first step in applying for an American Sponsorship Visa. No paper applications are required; the American Sponsorship Visa application can be completed online. Throughout the application process, all applicants must electronically submit all Visa entries on the Electronic D V (E-DV) website.

All applications for the 2024 American Sponsorship Visa program must be filed and submitted by 2022. As previously stated, the entry year is 2024, but the registration year is 2022. Late entries will not be accepted by the Department of State.

Please keep in mind that no two entries are permitted. The Department of State will disqualify you if you enter twice. To be considered, all applicants must complete the entry form and provide all required information. If you do not provide all of the required information, you will be disqualified from the Immigrant Visa Sponsorship program.

Applicants Selection

The American Sponsorship Visa program’s selection procedure is extremely difficult. The Department of State chooses candidates at random each year. However, the selection of participants depends on the number of available visas for their own country for the year.

The Department of State evaluates applications after candidates submit them before making a decision. The applicants whose applications are verified and who satisfy the requirements for eligibility will be picked.

If your entry is chosen, you will be directed to a confirmation page with additional instructions, including information on immigration fees to the United States. Note, the only way for selectees to be notified of their selection is through the Entrant Status Check.

The Department of State does not send out notification letters or email notifications to selectees, and US Embassies and Consulates do not provide a list of selectees. You are strongly advised to visit the Entrant Status Check yourself rather than relying on someone else to check and notify you.

For DV Selectees Residing in the United States

If you are physically present in the United States and receive notification through the E-DV website that you have been selected for further processing in the DV Program, you may be eligible to adjust your status to obtain permanent residence through the DV Program.

Credentials Verification

To be eligible for sponsorship of a US immigrant visa, candidates must fulfill one of the following requirements:

  • High School education.
  • Work Experience.

High School education

A high school education denotes successful completion of a structured primary and secondary education program that would take 12 years to complete in the US. This criterion only applies to formal programs of study; equivalent credentials like the G.E.D. are not accepted.

If you don’t fit either of the requirements (education and work experience), you might not be eligible for the American Sponsorship Visa program. You may need to visit the DV Qualifications website to see if you fulfill these requirements.
